Mississippi State softball looks to win round one of the SEC Softball Tournament

The Mississippi State softball team is now heading into the first game of the SEC Softball Tournament. And, as it turns out, this is literally the first game of the SEC Softball Tournament. Mississippi State and Texas A&M are the first two teams to play up in Columbia, Missouri, where the SEC tournament is being hosted this year.

Mississippi State met with the Aggies earlier this year when Texas A&M came to Starkville, Mississippi for a three game series. And, though the series was closely contested, MSU simply could not come out on top of two of the three games.

But, the Bulldogs have a shot at redemption today.

The Mississippi State softball team doesn’t have the best history when it comes to making it out of the first round of the SEC Tournament. But, today, the Bulldogs will face a familiar foe who is riding a three game losing streak. In theory, and possibly theory alone, the Mississippi State Bulldogs could come out on top today.

It’s hard to predict that Mississippi State will win when history says that the Bulldogs shouldn’t win this game. But, anything can happen on any given game day. And, today, hopefully Mississippi State will move on to the second round of the SEC Tournament.
