After getting run over by the LSU Tigers, the Mississippi State football team has fallen to the bottom of the SEC West. Here are the latest SEC Standings.

Saturday afternoon, bad things happened. The Mississippi State football team had no fun and was blown out by the LSU Tigers.

And that, unsurprisingly, made a lot of folks pretty upset with where the Miss. State football program seems to be right now (shoutout to and any and all Miss. State Bulldogs fans who made the poor decision to watch the game and hurt their eyes).

Now the Bulldogs have to find a way to move forward after that humbling loss. Zach Arnett, Kevin Barbay, and Matt Brock all have the very unenviable task of trying to pick up the pieces after getting steamrolled by the LSU Tigers.

Unfortunately for them, MSU looked like one of the absolute worst programs in the SEC on Saturday. And unsurprisingly, the Bulldogs are now at the very bottom of the SEC West standings.

That’s bad.

SEC standings: Mississippi State football falls to bottom of SEC West after offense struggled vs. LSU Tigers

The Mississippi State Bulldogs are (as of right now) amongst the worst teams in the SEC. That’s less than ideal.

That said, it’s early.

There’s a ton of football to be played (that could be a good or bad thing for MSU football fans) and this is a pretty small sample size. It’s technically one-eighth of what we’ll actually get from the Bulldogs in SEC play this season.

But losing 41-14 is not what you’d want from a team that should be at least fairly competitive in SEC play. The Bulldogs were underwhelming Saturday afternoon.

And that can’t be the case when MSU goes on the road to South Carolina to face the Gamecocks or when the Bulldogs welcome Nick Saban and his (relatively) struggling (but still immensely talented Alabama Crimson Tide to town).
