Week 10 in the SEC features some interesting games and story lines.

Auburn hosts Vanderbilt at 11:00 AM. The Tigers turned out to be really good this year and should win this game rather easily. They should also be 9-2 heading to the Iron Bowl and playing for a chance at the SEC West, which makes that game extra juicy.

Texas A&M travels to face our beloved Bulldogs and they should win the game being 13 point road favorites. The College Football Playoff committee ranked them in the top four in the first set of rankings this week. Can they play well enough to stick around? They need Auburn to win the Iron Bowl – either for a three-way tie or because it gives Bama their second loss (LSU).

Ole Miss is terrible at stopping the run and they face triple option Georgia Southern. Possible upset? Probably not because GSU is just 4-4 and are 27 point underdogs but the Rebs have lost three in a row.

Florida controls their own destiny to win the SEC and make the CFB playoffs. Or they could completely stumble and blow a two game lead in the division. First test of the month is a road trip to Arkansas at 2:30 on CBS.

South Carolina might make a bowl game. We’ll find out as they play Missouri at home this week….which could be their fifth win with Western Carolina still on the schedule.

Tennessee still has a chance at the SEC East but they have to win out November.

Kentucky has gone from the worst team in the league to division contender in the span of a month. They have a legit shot at winning the East if they beat Georgia at 6:30 on SEC Network, then beat Tennessee next week (something that’s extraordinarily rare).

  • Both of the above two teams need Florida to lose two of their three remaining SEC games: at Arkansas, vs. South Carolina and at LSU.

LSU could really make things interesting.

  1. If they beat Alabama in CBS’ annual night game between these two, it will be Coach O’s job to lose.
  2. If they beat Bama this week, it’ll make four West teams with one loss on their conference record. That would mean we most likely enter the final week of the season with all of them at 6-1 and facing each other. LSU vs. A&M on Thanksgiving and Auburn vs. Alabama the final Saturday.

Should be fun to watch.
