Your Mississippi State University 2015 Football Schedule

Fellow Maroon & White faithful, that special time of year is once again fast approaching!

As we all sweat thru these upcoming dawg days of summer, we know there is hope. We’re nearing the point where we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. It won’t be long before we can all smell on the crisp autumn air the aromas of succulent food grilling under maroon tents on Saturdays in the Junction. We’ll all soon be, once again, toting our cowbells in our back pockets. Not too much longer until Mississippi State football will be back again!

Consequently, thought I’d go ahead and roll out Bent Bulldawg’s Officially Unofficial Mississippi State University Bulldawgs 2015 Football Schedule!

Feel free to bookmark, share, print, email, post on the refrigerator or office bulletin board, or just pretty much whatever you want to do!

Now, let’s break this schedule down and see what we have to look forward to.

We’ll start out the season with a drive down to Hattiesburg (you can do it; its not that far) to face off against those poor, pitiful mustard buzzards we killed in the season opener last year.

Then, we’ll start SEC play with a real game (unless LSU’s season doesn’t turn out as well as they’d like, then our critics will discredit it), but at least it’s at home at Davis Wade.

We’ll follow that up with another cupcake in the Northwestern State Demons. Who? Right.

Then we’ll have our first SEC road game on the plains against the pre-season highly-ranked Auburn Tigers. Again, not that far of a drive. So far, I don’t see anything that’s not winnable.

Up next is another road test against the Aggies in College Station. (I doubt I’ll be making that one. That’s a drive for the hardcore Road Dawgs.) Still, unless they find a resolution for their QB and defense issues, that’s another W.

The rest of October looks like smooth sailing with home games against the Troy Trojans, LA Tech Bulldogs, and Kentucky Wildcats. We’ll all be feeling good, and we get Halloween off this year. If we manage to be 8-0 by that point, I’m expecting to see lots of MSU costumes!

This season, we’re back to one bye week after having had two for the last few years.

More from Mississippi State Bulldogs News

Our only Thursday game of the year comes next against the Missouri Tigers in Columbia, MO, so I know there’s no way I’m going to make that one. The good news is that this Thursday game, instead of being a short week game, comes immediately after our bye week, so we get 12 days to prepare for those Tigers that have, for the last two years, surprised us with exactly how good they could be in the SEC. This also gives us a long week — 9 days, to prepare for…

Them danged red elephants are coming to visit us at home at Davis Wade. This was the game that broke our season last year. This year, at home, surely we won’t allow them to do the same.

Next the team and some of y’all will travel all the way up to Fayetteville to take on Pig U. They were better than their record showed last year, and I expect they’ll be even better this year. Fortunately, we broke the curse of not being able to beat them in the state of Arkansas.

After that, we get another cupcake to finish out the regular season. Not much to say about that one. Should be a fairly uneventful Saturday, except that we’ll be getting our danged trophy back!

So, being 12-0 at that point, I see no way we don’t continue on thru Atlanta to the FBS playoffs and championship. Now, I know Arizona is a heck of trip, but folks, if Mississippi State makes it to the FBS championship game, I’ll be there.

So, keep your heads up, Dawgs. Football season will be back soon, and it should be a good one. And no matter what, remember…

HAIL STATE!
