The Mississippi State baseball team and Oklahoma Sooners are now ready for the Tallahassee Regional Championship

The 2018 Mississippi State baseball team just keeps surviving and advancing. With its back square up against the wall with no room for error, MSU has won two elimination games in the Tallahassee Regional.

Yesterday, the Bulldogs beat Florida State. The game was owned by the Seminoles for most of the nine innings. Straight up into the bottom of the 9th, FSU held on to a 2-0 lead. And then the Mississippi State Bulldogs struck. Elijah MacNamee eliminated Florida State from their own regional.

Earlier today, Mississippi State did it again. The Maroon and White clad Bulldogs jumped out to a 5-0 lead on Samford. And then the Samford Bulldogs tied the game right back up. But, MSU fought back and came away with a 9-8 win. And now MSU and Oklahoma will play each other again.

The Mississippi State baseball team couldn’t keep up with Oklahoma on Friday. The Bulldogs held a 10-7 lead over the Sooners late in the game, but Mississippi State fell apart and gave up 13 runs over the final few innings.

Next: Denver McQuary to take on Oklahoma

And now Mississippi State must find a way to win this game. The Bulldogs are turning to Denver McQuary to run things on the mound. If McQuary can just give MSU a chance in this one, then they might be able to win today and force another game tomorrow. But, the Bulldogs must find a way to win tonight. And that won’t be easy.
