The Mississippi State baseball team aims to take the SEC series from the Florida Gators tonight
Last night, the Mississippi State baseball team came back to beat the top ranked Florida Gators. Mississippi State has been uncharacteristically good against some of the top ranked opponents that they have faced this year.
Facing the No. 1 Florida Gators was no different for Mississippi State. The Mississippi State baseball team fell behind early, but they weren’t down for the entire game. Instead, the Mississippi State Bulldogs came back the final third of the game and beat Florida. The Bulldogs, down 3-0 heading into the bottom of the 7th inning came all the way back to win.
Elijah MacNamee’s two-run homer in the 7th to get MSU on the board helped. Jake Mangum’s two RBI triple in the 8th put Mississippi State ahead. And, finally, Tanner Allen’s two-run homer put the game out of reach from Florida.
