It’s mid August which means it’s almost high school football time in the State of Mississippi – which means it’s also time to start revealing our Mississippi High School Elite Top 10.

We will be releasing a team per day for the next two weeks to give you who we think are the top high school football programs in the State of Mississippi, regardless of classification.

Today we look at number – 1 The South Panola Tigers

More from Mississippi State Football

Classification: 6A

Last Year: Finished 16-0 and won the 6A State Championship.

South Panola and head coach Lance Pogue were back on top of Mississippi High School football last year as they finished a perfect 16-0 in route to another state championship.

The Tigers return a ton of talent for 2015 and check in as our top team in the state of Mississippi as we head towards the 2015 high school football season.

The Tigers return a seasoned offensive line and while they work out their quarterback questions, they will depend on Oluwain Hoskins to carry the load in the backfield. Hoskins was a thousand yard rusher a year ago and will pace the Tigers running game.

Cole Rotenberry and Demetrius Market can play a number of positions and do a lot of different things for this Panola offense and should touch the ball in a number of ways for the Tigers this year.

USP only gave up 14 points per game last year and head coach Lance Pogue is as excited as he’s been about his 2015 defense, which is not a good thing for anyone on the Panola schedule.

South Panola sets the standard for Mississippi High School football and will pace the field again in 2015.
