Judd Boswell’s Clinton Arrows return a ton of talent in 2015 and this is the year they have been building for in Central Mississippi as Clinton looks the part of a state championship type team.
It all starts with Alabama commitment Cam Akers at quarterback for the Arrows, as the big 6-0 and 210 pound dual threat quarterback can do it all for the Arrows. Akers accounted for well over 2,000 total yards and 37 touchdowns a year ago as a sophomore. Junior running back Darius Mayberry returns to lead the Arrows backfield and will be joined this year by Ridgeland transfer standout Kam’ron White.
This trio in the backfield to go along with Barrett Barham at receiver make this Arrow offense one that can score at will and at any moment.
The Arrows gave up right at 20 points per game a year ago and will be looking to replace a few key players throughout their defense, but Clinton should again be one of the more physical defenses in 6A.
North 6A is stacked in 2015, which should make for a great high school football season this year. Don’t be surprised to see Clinton standing around at the end, vying for a trip to Oxford and the State Championship.
