Mississippi State football has some big holes to fill at wide receiver after a pair of starters entered the transfer portal. The Bulldogs are hard at work attacking the portal for replacements, and they've already gotten one good addition at WR in Oklahoma transfer Brenen Thompson. Now they've got another power conference pass catcher in the boat...

Michigan State wide receiver Jaron Glover commits to Mississippi State Bulldogs out of transfer portal

Mississippi State added its second transfer portal wide receiver of the day when former Michigan State Spartan Jaron Glover committed to the Bulldogs. The former 3-star prospect out of Sarasota, FL native spent the first three years of college career in East Lansing.

After redshirting in his true freshman season, Glover became a regular part of the Spartan's receiver rotation. Injuries limited his opportunities, as he missed seven games over the last two seasons. However when healthy in this last two years, he showed plenty of promise, totaling 29 receptions for 453 yards and two scores. In 2023, he led Michigan State with 18.6 yards per catch.

Glover has a solid build at 6-1, 205. He's capable of winning one on one down the field and does a great job of adjusting for the ball in the air. While not a burner or "run after catch" specialist, he looks to be an effective all around pass catcher on the outside.

Jaron Glover is another quality pickup for the Bulldogs out of the transfer portal

State suffered two big losses to its wide receiver room this week between Kevin Coleman and Mario Craver. Now they've made a pair of quality additions to that room between Jaron Glover and Brenen Thompson. Thompson can play the role of the deep threat within the offense, and Glover looks like a reliable outside target.

They still, ideally, could use a more dynamic slot receiver to step in for the huge void left by Coleman, but they're off to a good start when it comes to reloading the room. If State can get a transfer QB in the boat soon, hopefully that will draw another high-level wideout to Starkville.
