Mississippi State football's 2024 season has come to an end. The Bulldogs turned in a frustrating 2-10 campaign in Jeff Lebby's first year leading the program. After a year like that, you can expect some major changes to the Mississippi State roster in the offseason.

Frankly every program, regardless of success, sees major roster overturn each offseason these days. That's just life in the transfer portal era. With players free to transfer as they wish and play immediately, plenty of guys in good situation will, at a minimum, test the waters to see what's available to them.

And of course there's players on the other end of the spectrum that are simply hoping to find a place where they can make an impact. There will almost certainly be current Mississippi State players that enter the portal for either of those reasons.

December 11 - Junior Wide Receiver Kevin Coleman enters the transfer portal

The biggest loss by far that the Bulldogs have suffered. Leading WR Kevin Coleman has hit the portal after 74 catches for 932 yards and six TDs in 2024. Coleman was easily the top player on the offensive side of the ball and an All-SEC selection.

December 10 - Freshman Quarterback Michael Van Buren enters the transfer portal

A major but heavily anticipated loss for Mississippi State, true freshman QB Michael Van Buren has entered the portal. Van Buren started eight games in 2024, filling in for an injured Blake Shapen. He showed incredible potential with 1886 passing yards and 16 total touchdowns, including a 300-yard, 3-touchdown performance at Georgia.

December 10 - Junior Defensive Lineman Eric Taylor enters the transfer portal

Defensive lineman Eric Taylor is officially in the transfer portal. Taylor was not with the Bulldogs for the 2024 season. In 2023, he totaled 15 tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss.

December 9 - Senior Running Back Keyvone Lee enters the transfer portal

Bulldog running back Keyvone Lee is entering the portal. The former Penn State rusher transferred to State last season, rushing for 75 yards and 12 carries. Lee saw a starting role in the MSU offense this season. Through four games he had 140 yards and one TD, but an injury suffered against Florida ended his season.

December 9 - Freshman Wide Receiver Mario Craver enters the transfer portal

Standout freshman WR Mario Craver has entered the transfer portal. The explosive former 4-star prospect caught 17 passes for 368 yards and three TDs in nine games in 2024.

December 9 - Junior Linebacker Marcus Ross enters the transfer portal

Linebacker Marcus Ross is now in the portal. The East Mississippi CC product played in MSU's season-opener, recording two tackles, but did not see further action in 2024.

December 9 - Redshirt Freshman Offensive Tackle Amari Smith enters the transfer portal

Offensive lineman Amari Smith is entering the portal. The redshirt freshman tackle from Brookhaven, MS did not see any action during his two seasons on campus.

December 9 - Junior Safety Chris Keys enters the transfer portal

Safety Chris Keys is transferring from Mississippi State. Keys transferred into MSU from Indiana ahead of the 2023 season. In two years, Keys played in 19 games and made one start, totaling 26 tackles.

December 9 - Senior Cornerback Raydarious Jones enters the transfer portal

Corner Raydarious Jones is in the portal. The former LSU Tiger transferred to MSU ahead of the 2023 season. He played in two games during his two years at State.

December 8 - Sophomore Linebacker Javae Gilmore enters the transfer portal

Linebacker Javae Gilmore is entering the portal. The Amite, LA native was a special teams player for State as a true freshman in 2023. He saw action in 11 games in 2024, recording two tackles.

December 5 - Junior Wide Receiver Antonio Harmon enters the transfer portal

Wide receiver Antonio Harmon is the latest Bulldog pass-catcher in the transfer portal. Harmon saw a handful of opportunities in 2022, recording five catches. Playing as a flex tight end for the 2023 season, Harmon caught 14 passes for 98 yards and a score. He moved back to wide receiver for 2024 but did not see any playing time.

December 4 - Sophomore Safety Kobi Albert enters the transfer portal

Yet another former transfer on the move again. Safety Kobi Albert, who transferred to MSU from Kentucky in 2023, is in the portal. A injury before the 2023 season kept him sidelined for that year, and in 2024 he only saw playing time in four games.

December 4 - Sophomore Cornerback Khamauri Rogers enters the transfer portal

Backup cornerback Khamauri Rogers is transferring once again. The former 4-star Miami-signee transferred to MSU in 2023. He did not play that season and only saw limited action in 2024.

December 4 - Junior Offensive Tackle Makylan Pounders enters the transfer portal

One year after transferring in to MSU, tackle Makylan Pounders is back in the portal. Pounders started six games at left tackle for the Bulldogs this fall, but the end of the season had lost to his job to true freshman Luke Work.

December 3 - Junior Offensive Lineman Leon Bell enters the transfer portal

Junior offensive lineman Leon Bell has entered his name in the transfer portal. The former JUCO-product was expected to be apart of the regular offensive line rotation for the Bulldogs this fall, making one start against Arizona State. He was suspended from the team after two games.

December 3 - Sophomore Cornerback Brice Pollock enters the transfer portal

The first major contributor from the 2024 season has entered the portal. Cornerback Brice Pollock started all 12 games for the Bulldogs after making three starts as a true freshman in 2023. The former 4-star prospect from Georgia had 48 tackles, eight pass deflections, an interception, and a forced fumble this season.

December 3 - RS Freshman Defensive Lineman Gabe Moore enters the transfer portal

Redshirt freshman defensive tackle Gabe Moore has entered his name in the portal. The former 3-star prospect in the class of 2023 from Louisville, MS did not see any action during his two seasons in Starkville.

December 3 - Junior Linebacker John Lewis enters the transfer portal

Junior linebacker John Lewis will be entering his name in the transfer portal. The Canton, MS-native was a 4-star prospect in the 2021 class. Lewis made three starts in 2023. As a backup in 2024, he recorded 21 tackles.

December 3 - Junior Linebacker Ty Cooper enters the transfer portal

Junior linebacker Ty Cooper is entering the transfer portal. Cooper made three starts over the last two seasons as an edge rusher. This season, Cooper recorded 29 tackles and a sack. The Louisville, MS-native was a 3-star recruit in the 2021 class.

December 2 - RS Freshman Linebacker Tabias Hinton enters the transfer portal

The first Bulldog defender has entered his name in the portal. Redshirt freshman linebacker Tabias Hinton will be transferring from Mississippi State. The former 3-star prospect from Hattiesburg in the class of 2023 did not see any action during his two years with the program.

December 2 - Senior Running Back Jeffery Pittman enters the transfer portal

Senior running back Jeffery Pittman is transferring from Mississippi State. Pittman was announced as no longer being with the program prior to the season. The JUCO product rushed for 268 yards and a score to go along with a pair of receiving touchdowns in 2023.

December 2 - RS Freshman Quarterback Chris Parson enters the transfer portal

Redshirt freshman quarterback Chris Parson has entered the transfer portal. The former 4-star signee from the 2023 class originally committed to the Bulldogs under the late Mike Leach and still chose to sign with the program after his passing. Parson saw one start at Texas A&M in 2023 but became the third-string QB under Jeff Lebby.

December 2 - Senior Wide Receiver Trent Hudson enters the transfer portal

Senior wide receiver Trent Hudson is entering his name into the transfer portal. Hudson transferred to Mississippi State ahead of the 2024 season following a productive 2023 at New Mexico State. For the Aggies, Hudson caught 36 passes for 551 yards and 10 touchdowns. Hudson saw minimal snaps and had no catches in the four games he played for the Bulldogs prior to taking a redshirt.

November 30 - Freshman Wide Receiver JJ Harrell enters the transfer portal

True freshman wide receiver JJ Harrell has entered the transfer portal. A 4-star signee in the 2024 class, the Sardis, MS native dealt with injuries and did not play this season, taking a redshirt. Harrell was previously committed to Tennessee before flipping to the Bulldogs and had an offer sheet full of SEC programs.

November 30 - Sophomore Wide Receiver Creed Whittemore enters the transfer portal

Sophomore wide receiver Creed Whittemore has entered the transfer portal. The former 4-star recruit in the 2023 class from Gainesville, FL took a redshirt four games into the 2024 season. In 16 total games as a backup slot receiver, Whittemore caught 15 passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns. He also had four rushes for 101 yards and two touchdowns.
