Saturday didn’t go according to plan for Zach Arnett and the Mississippi State football team. These infuriating stats help tell the story of that loss.
Mississippi State football’s home loss to LSU on Saturday was frustrating. For many reasons. The Bulldogs lost 41-14. Typically, when things like that happen, it’s not because good things are happening.
The Bulldogs put up all sorts of ugly numbers in the stat sheet and ultimately didn’t put up much on the scoreboard. And that was really frustrating to watch.
These five stats really stand out from Mississippi State’s loss to the LSU Tigers.

No. 5: Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers was sacked 4 times
Mississippi State’s offense had all sorts of issues and Kevin Barbay and company are going to have a ton of fun sifting through the film so that the Bulldogs can figure out how to improve going forward.
One thing that will certainly stick out is how often MSU quarterback Will Rogers was pressured. Because he was pressured a lot.
Rogers only mustered 103 passing yards as he completed just 11 of his 28 passing attempts. There’s no way that Rogers had any sort of fun as he was chased around all afternoon. And if Mississippi State is going to find some life on offense, Rogers will need a clean pocket (or the Bulldogs need to get creative).
