Even if everything goes right on offense for the Mississippi State football team and Nick Fitzgerald has a Herculean type performance against Alabama, there’s still a good chance that it won’t be enough.
Even if everything goes right on defense and the Bulldogs are able to keep Tua Tagovailoa from having a monster performance, there’s still plenty of talent right alongside the young quarterback that could score in an instant.
It’s going to take something of a miracle for the Mississippi State football team to defeat this Alabama Crimson Tide team. Alabama is scoring at rates that haven’t really been seen before and few teams are truly able to stop its offense.
Add in the fact Nick Saban’s defense is still truly great, and you’ve got a team that is as close to unbeatable as possible. This very well may be the best team that Saban’s dynasty has ever seen, and that’s saying a lot given how many great teams have come around during his tenure there.
Saban has built that program into a true machine that processes opponents with ease. It’s an impossibly high standard that has been set for every dynasty ever. Dan Mullen couldn’t do anything against it except come somewhat close in 2014 and then almost beat it in 2017. Now, Joe Moorhead gets to see what it’s like this weekend.
