Stephen Guidry

If the Mississippi State Bulldogs are going to win on the road, the offense is going to need to execute at a high level. MSU’s main focus in this game on offense should be to run the ball and to run it as often as possible. However, State will still need to stretch the field at some point. That’s where Stephen Guidry comes in.

Guidry is the Bulldogs’ second leading receiver, but he only has 10 receptions and 192 receiving yards along with a touchdown. In six games, that’s somewhat underwhelming. Granted, MSU’s passing attack really isn’t all that potent this year and the Bulldogs have been spreading the ball around when they have taken to the air.

Still, that’s frustrating to see. In this game, against the LSU Tigers, if the Bulldogs turn to Guidry to make a big play or two, then he’ll need to do it. There’s little doubt that he’s talented enough to have a big game on the road, but he needs to prove it here.

MSU is fresh off of a bye week. Hopefully some time was spent ironing out the issues in the passing game.
