SEC Football: Mizzou Tigers set to take on South Carolina Gamecocks in SEC East matchup

The Mizzou Tigers got to take a nice break from everything last week. After the Tigers crumbled against the Georgia Bulldogs, they needed a bye week. And, well, they got one. Missouri is now looking to find a way back into the SEC East picture. The Tigers will need to beat South Carolina to do that.

South Carolina, on the other hand, is trying to maintain relevance in the SEC East. The Gamecocks, like several other teams this year, were outmatched against Kentucky and fell short in a physical contest.

Now, these two teams will try to outwork the other for a battle for SEC East standings. Technically, Mizzou can get right back in the race for Atlanta if some miracles happen and the Tigers don’t lose anymore. This game means a lot to Missouri today. I’m honestly not sure how much it means to South Carolina.

Game Information:

  • Who is playing? Mizzou Tigers (3-1 overall, 0-1 Southeast Conference) at South Carolina Gamecocks (2-2 overall, 1-2 SEC)
  • Where are they playing? Columbia, South Carolina
  • When are they playing? October 6th at 11:00 AM Central Time

How To Keep Up With The Game

Why does this matter for Mississippi State football fans?

There’s no real conclusions or consequences from this game that would realistically impact the Mississippi State football team. There’s no notions of real importance that could affect Mississippi State from a game between two SEC football teams from the other division who won’t meet up with State this season.

What this game does provide is a potentially entertaining matchup between two solid SEC East teams. There’s not much exciting happening early in the college football world. This game could be an interesting one to watch.

Or you could watch Alabama crush Arkansas. I’m not sure that’d be any more enjoyable, but it’s something you could watch instead. I’d rather watch this game right here, to be perfectly honest.
