SEC Football: Vanderbilt Commodores look to right the ship against Tennessee State after two demoralizing losses

The past couple of weeks haven’t exactly been easy on the Vanderbilt Commodores. First, Vanderbilt came up short on the road at Notre Dame. South Bend is a tough place to play and the Commodores went in and had a shot at winning. Their comeback attempt was just too little and too late.

Ultimately, they lost by just five points.

Then, last week against South Carolina, Vanderbilt looked absolutely lost and couldn’t go score for score with Will Muschamp’s team. Derek Mason and his Vanderbilt squad lost by a total of 23 points.

And now, they’re looking to bounce back. They’ve got a rather easy opponent and a great opportunity to do just that.

Why does this SEC football game matter for Mississippi State football fans?

Of all of the SEC football games out there for Mississippi State fans to watch, this one doesn’t hold much importance in any regard. There’s nothing here to help the Bulldogs with their attempt to get back in the midst of the race for the SEC West and there’s no overwhelmingly intriguing storyline here.

Vanderbilt is simply looking to bounce back after a couple of rough losses. Mississippi State fans are definitely familiar with that feeling. If you’re interested in watching the Commodores find their way back over .500 for the season with a win, then this game is probably the one for you.

This should be a clear, easy win for Vanderbilt. If it somehow, for some reason isn’t, then some of the off the field storylines will get rather interesting really quickly.
