SEC Football: Texas A&M looks to continue its winning streak over Arkansas
The Texas A&M Aggies have defeated the Arkansas Razorbacks in each of the last six seasons. Since the Aggies joined the Southeastern Conference in 2012, the series has been incredibly one-sided in the results column despite some close calls in a few different games. 2014, 2015, and 2017 were all decided by one touchdown each.
While this Texas A&M team has shown some promise this season in their two losses, this Arkansas team looks to be anything but competitive so far in 2018. When the Aggies dueled with Clemson and scared the Tigers a bit, Arkansas lost to Colorado State. While Texas A&M simply couldn’t keep up with Alabama, the Razorbacks looked completely and totally lost against North Texas two weekends ago.
Texas A&M very well could be a pretty good team this year. There’s some growing pains with their new coach, but many teams are experiencing that. Arkansas, on the other hand, looks hopeless this season.

Why does this SEC football game matter for Mississippi State football fans?
This game features two teams from the SEC West. Although the Bulldogs get to play both of them at home and Arkansas doesn’t appear to be much of a threat to MSU, any and every conference game featuring SEC West teams matters right now after the Bulldogs’ loss to Kentucky.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs are hoping to find their way back into the SEC West race. An upstart Arkansas upset would move Texas A&M down in the SEC football division standings and give the Bulldogs a shot at climbing up a few spots should MSU get back to winning.
There’s little to no benefit for Mississippi State if Texas A&M wins here. Both teams are trying to fight for respect within the SEC West and though neither is likely to win the division at this point, getting as high in the division standings as possible is important for fan perception and recruiting efforts.
