SEC Football: An intriguing LSU Tigers team is hosting a high scoring bunch in the Ole Miss Rebels in a late game
The No. 5 LSU Tigers and the Ole Miss Rebels will be kicking things off in a rather late game. LSU has surprised everyone by jumping out to a 4-0 record and climbing all the way up to become the 5th ranked team in the nation.
Ole Miss, on the other hand, looks very similar to a season ago when they scorched opposing defenses with their offense and then had their own defense scorched.
Now, the two teams will meet each other.
The Tigers, overall, are a much more complete team and they’ve earned their way to being the No. 5 team in the nation by clobbering Miami and Auburn. Still, despite all of that, they’re only one game better than the Rebels in terms of SEC play.
We’re still only four weeks into this season and there’s a lot of football to be played.

Why does this matter for Mississippi State football fans?
Both Ole Miss and LSU are clearly in the SEC West. After the Bulldogs completely fell apart last week in Kroger Field against the Kentucky Wildcats, the margin of error for the Mississippi State football team in the SEC football race became much thinner.
The Bulldogs absolutely need to wins against SEC foes and a healthy dose of chaos could also help MSU out a bit.
I’m not saying that Mississippi State fans should root for Ole Miss here, because that would ruin the point of college football rivalries. However, what I am saying, is that if LSU loses, maybe let’s not be all that upset. It could benefit the Bulldogs in the long run this season. Still, if Ole Miss loses, we can celebrate that some too.
It’s enjoyable to see your rival lose.
If you don’t want to root for either of these teams, which is totally fair, maybe just tune in to watch another SEC football game. Sit back, relax, and enjoy more SEC football.
