SEC Football: The No. 17 Kentucky Wildcats will host the South Carolina Gamecocks
Another week, another SEC game for the Kentucky Wildcats as they host the South Carolina Gamecocks this weekend. Kentucky is about to play their third SEC football game of the young college football season.
Last weekend, the Wildcats upset the Mississippi State Bulldogs in dominant fashion and, well, it hurt to watch. Nobody here at Maroon and White Nation enjoyed that in the slightest.
On the South Carolina side of things, the Gamecocks are fresh off of a huge win over the Vanderbilt Commodores. Their SEC opener wasn’t all that special as they were blown out by the Georgia Bulldogs, but they did a solid job of responding last weekend after their week three game was cancelled because of Hurricane Florence.

Why does this SEC football game matter for Mississippi State football fans?
As most people who frequent this blog are all too familiar, the Kentucky Wildcats beat Mississippi State. It was a horrible game that, in many ways, derailed the Bulldogs’ season and aspirations for this year.
While many MSU fans aren’t going to be all that keen on rooting for Kentucky or even watching them after how last Saturday’s game played out, it is important to keep up with the Wildcats and watch how they play the rest of the season. It’s truly possible that this is a special year for Kentucky and that they are a really good team.
If Kentucky can keep winning, then last week’s loss won’t look so bad for Joe Moorhead and Mississippi State as long as the Bulldogs keep winning as well.
