SEC Football: No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs to battle struggling Tennessee Volunteers
Much like Nick Saban’s Alabama in the SEC West is simply steamrolling all of its foes, Kirby Smart’s Georgia in the SEC East is on a similar path of dominance. Georgia is undefeated, appears to be the second best team in the country, and is ready to keep winning.
Tennessee, on the other hand, is not where the Vols want to be. Jeremy Pruitt has stepped into a difficult situation in Knoxville, Tennessee and is trying to not only salvage this season but also build his program for the future. The Vols have a couple of losses already and things won’t get any easier for them this weekend.
The Bulldogs and Vols will battle each other in Athens, Georgia on CBS. This game probably won’t be competitive and we’ll see yet another blowout on CBS this season.

Why does this SEC football game matter for Mississippi State football fans?
There’s not many reasons for Mississippi State fans to watch this game outside of just, you know, watching SEC football. Neither team winning this game will help the Mississippi State Bulldogs compete in the SEC West picture. On top of that, Mississippi State won’t face either of these teams (unless some miracle happens to where State makes it to Atlanta).
The only reason I could suggest for Mississippi State fans to take an interest in this game would be to see how the SEC East shakes up with Kentucky now appearing to be the second best team in that division.
The Wildcats are going to have to go through Georgia, and that’s not an easy thing to do right now. However, Kentucky looks pretty good and they’re looking forward to meeting up with Georgia. There’s no other legitimate challengers for Smart and his team in the SEC East right now, so seeing how these two teams will pan out prior to their meeting later this season isn’t necessarily a bad thing to do.
