SEC Football: Undefeated No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide ready to host Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns
The top ranked team in the country is set to welcome another challenger into its stadium today. That’d be great and all if that challenger had anything that resembled a real chance at victory. No. 1 Alabama is about to face the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns.
Alabama is very good. They’re certainly the best team in the country at the moment. Louisiana-Lafayette is not very good. They are far from being the best team in the country at the moment, though they do have a former Saban assistant working for them trying to improve their team and give them a shot at winning more games.
Billy Napier has taken over Louisiana-Lafayette and is attempting to build it into a respectable program. He’s probably not going to get a huge win when the Ragin’ Cajuns battle the Crimson Tide, but his athletic department is probably getting a pretty good payday from the game and that’ll help them out quite a bit going into the future.

Why does this SEC football game matter to Mississippi State football fans?
Uh, well, it really doesn’t. There’s several other SEC football games throughout today that will matter to the SEC West race and will definitely be interesting for Mississippi State fans to watch. Unfortunately, this game is not one of those.
The Crimson Tide have a much better team than the Ragin’ Cajuns and it isn’t particularly close. There is no real chance that Louisiana-Lafayette can beat Alabama this year. This is another game that Alabama comes out, crushes their vastly inferior foe, and then walks away ready to repeat the process next week.
While there is a team from Louisiana that might have an outside shot at challenging Alabama, this team is certainly not it.
Mississippi State fans are familiar with Louisiana-Lafayette this season. The Bulldogs and the Ragin’ Cajuns played a couple of weeks ago and Nick Fitzgerald led MSU to an incredibly dominant victory. MSU fans should expect Alabama to have similar results.
