Mississippi State Football vs LSU 2014

This is the game that started that historic run the Bulldogs made back in 2014.

It wasn’t the first game of the season, but it is the game that put Mississippi State football on the map for everyone to see that year. This is the game that Dak Prescott, Josh Robinson, and the Mississippi State football team walked right into Death Valley and took down the LSU Tigers.

Mississippi State got off to fast start, putting the LSU Tigers down 17-0 in the early part of the second quarter. LSU slowly crawled back into the game, kicking a field goal in the second and then getting a touchdown in the third to cut the lead to one touchdown.

But, Dak Prescott wasn’t done.

Mississippi State’s offense went on to rack up over 500 yards against the Tigers’ defense. MSU scored 34 points against LSU on their home turf.

The Bulldogs held on to win 34-29 after weathering LSU’s furious comeback attempt. This win then propelled MSU forward. After the Bulldogs beat No. 8 LSU, Mississippi State would go on to beat No. 6 Texas A&M followed by No. 2 Auburn.

This win sent MSU on a track that eventually led to them becoming the No. 1 team in the nation. This win ended decades of frustration and heartbreaking losses to the Tigers. This win showed that the Bulldogs could play with anyone on any stage.
