Mississippi State Football vs LSU 2017

The Mississippi State football team had an incredible game against the LSU Tigers in 2017. It was the biggest win that the Bulldogs have ever pulled off against LSU. It happened in Starkville and it told everyone that the 2017 Mississippi State football team meant business.

The Bulldogs and Tigers slugged each other back and forth a bit as this game started. The first quarter was a scoreless one, but it didn’t take too long into the second quarter for MSU to break through.

MSU and LSU traded touchdowns, but then the Bulldogs slowly pulled away from the Tigers.

The game quickly got out of reach from LSU in the third quarter as a 10 point halftime lead for MSU quickly swelled up to a 30-7 lead for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. MSU went on to win the game 37-7.

Without a doubt, this is one of the best coached games by Dan Mullen in his time as head coach. It very well could be the best coaching performance that he ever put on in his time in Starkville.

This win helped change the narrative of the series between MSU and LSU in recent seasons and also showed that the Bulldogs now possessed a team that could truly dismantle traditional SEC powers. By far, this was the biggest win from 2017 and the best performance that Mullen’s team had this season.
