The University of Texas Longhorns and the University of Florida Gators are two of the best baseball teams in the country. But, right now, both the Longhorns and the Gators are looking at possible elimination right in the eyes.

That’s because both Texas and Florida are playing to try to survive at this point. And, well, these two teams are trying to survive each other.

The Texas Longhorns came into this game after dropping their first matchup with the Arkansas Razorbacks by an embarrassing 11-5 score. The Florida Gators also fell apart in their first matchup, losing to the Texas Tech Red Raiders by a score of 6-3.

Now, both of these teams are trying to survive. The Florida Gators and Texas Longhorns came to Omaha trying to win a national title. Theoretically, either of these teams could still find a way to compete for a national title. But, it’s difficult to move on in Omaha after losing the first game. But, they still have a chance. And that’s why this game is being played today. Whoever wins will move on to play in another elimination game.
