The Mississippi State baseball team has seven players drafted in 2018

It’s no secret that Mississippi State baseball produces a multitude of players that draw interest from Major League Baseball organizations. Through the 2018 MLB draft, the Mississippi State Bulldogs had seven players get selected by a total of six different ball clubs.

This wasn’t the best draft that Mississippi State has gone through, but it wasn’t exactly a year in which MSU was expected to send many players off in the higher rounds. The Bulldogs produced six players that were all drafted on the third day of the 2018 MLB Draft.

From the 14th round and the 432nd pick down to the 32nd round and the 972nd pick, six different Mississippi State baseball players were selected. But, despite that fact, this team is still playing at a high level and many of those players have performed better than they were selected for.

Because of their play, the Mississippi State baseball team has a realistic shot at making it to the College World Series in a year that was written off halfway through the season. But, enough of that for now.

Back to the Bulldogs that were selected in the draft. Now, not all of those players will go on to play professional baseball after this season.

Some will likely announce their intentions to return to Starkville.

Some already have.

Regardless of where their future plays out, right not it’s important to recognize the seven Bulldogs that were selected. They’ve done a lot for MSU this year and have helped Mississippi State overcome some difficult circumstances.

Now, on to the players selected.
