Mississippi State Softball Making It To The Tucson Regional
The Mississippi State softball program has never made it beyond the regional round of the NCAA Tournament. That’s partially because Mississippi State has a relatively young softball program and hasn’t had many opportunities to get there just yet.
But, the Bulldogs were as close as they have ever been in 2018. Vann Stuedeman took her team to the NCAA Tournament for the sixth time in seven seasons. There, the Bulldogs inexplicably lost their first game against North Dakota State, sending MSU into two elimination games. In those elimination games, State scored 23 runs and dominated their opponents.
The Bulldogs then made it to the Tucson Regional Championship, the first time that they’ve ever played in a NCAA Regional Championship game. There, the Bulldogs came close but fell just short against Arizona.
