Mississippi State’s Offensive Line Will Be One Of The Best In The Southeastern Conference

Last season, Mississippi State football featured an offensive line that was anchored by Martinas Rankin. This season, Rankin is gone. He’s going on to the NFL to continue on his football career. But, Mississippi State won’t lose too much on the offensive front because of how the Bulldogs are built and what they are bringing back.

More from Maroon and White Nation

A total of four full-time starters from last season are returning to Starkville. Darryl Williams at left guard, Elgton Jenkins at center, Deion Calhoun at right guard, and Stewart Reese out at right tackle. The bulk of the offensive line for Mississippi State football returns to MSU.

And, though Mississippi State has to replace Rankin, the Bulldogs know how they are going to do it. Last year, Rankin played in 9 games. He was out for a few of them.

While Rankin was out, Greg Eiland took his place. And in that time, Eiland played pretty well. He stands at 6-8 and weighs in at 330 pounds. Eiland is a massive force that many defensive linemen and linebackers will fail to move past.
