With the Mississippi State baseball team winning eight of nine SEC series, the Bulldogs find themselves towards the top of most rankings.
After finishing the 2015 season at the very bottom of the SEC standings in 2015, the Mississippi State baseball team has bounced back better than most of us would have thought possible. With one weekend to play, the Bulldogs have a great chance to win the overall SEC Championship.

And when you play in the best conference in baseball, if you’re among the best in it, you’ll be among the best in the country. So far, the national rankings have reflected that
Here is where the Mississippi State Baseball team sits in the four major rankings.

- Perfect Game – 3rd
- Baseball America – 3rd
Rankings are highly subjective, as you can tell from the different places the Bulldogs are ranked. But there is very little subjectivity to the fact this baseball team is a far cry from the one that left so many fans disappointed a season ago.
The Bulldogs will need some help to win the SEC West and to win the overall SEC Championship. But if you look at the schedule you have to like the chances the team has they enter the final weekend of play.

The Mississippi State baseball team will host the Arkansas Razorbacks this weekend. There are no guarantees in baseball, but you certainly have to like your chances of pulling off a sweep in that series. It might be needed if the Bulldogs want to win their first SEC baseball championship since 1989.
The Texas A&M Aggies welcome the Ole Miss Rebels to College Station. They are tied with the Bulldogs, but own the tie-breaker for SEC Tournament seeding because of their series sweep earlier this year.
Both teams are a half game behind the Florida Gators. Florida will travel to LSU in what could be a chance for the Tigers to sneak a national seed spot from a team late in the season.

The Mississippi State baseball team is one of the best teams in the country. When a team is this high in the polls this late in the season, it is really hard to argue otherwise.
