MSU Football Set to Refer to all Years after 2015 as A.D. – After Dak
The Mississippi State football team plans to honor arguably its most iconic player by referring to all successive years as A.D.
With Dak Prescott moving on from his time as a Mississippi State Bulldog, many fans have been clamoring for the school to honor the player who has been the most recognizable to put on a Mississippi State football uniform. But what would be the best way to honor such a legend?
We now have our answer. Some might have thought a statue or renaming a building on campus after Dak would have been the way to go. But those aren’t always seen by everyone or even known about by everyone. Instead, the Bulldogs have come up with a unique way to honor the legacy of Dak Prescott which will be a constant reminder to all the greatness that was Dak Prescott.
From this point forward, all media information, media guides, and the official Mississippi State football twitter account shall refer to the years that follow Dak Prescott’s final season as A.D., as in After Dak. And all years prior to his first season in 2012 will be known as B.D., as in Before Dak.
What about the four years Dak Prescott was a player for the Mississippi State football team you ask? This time period will naturally be referred to as D.D., during Dak.

For example, when referring to the season Anthony Dixon broke the All-Time Mississippi State rushing record for career yards, simply count how many seasons it happened before Dak Prescott began playing. 2009 came three seasons before Dak Prescott’s redshirt freshman season, so Dixon broke the record in 3 B.D.
2016 will mark the first year of the A.D. period for Mississippi State football. We all eagerly anticipate who will be the quarterback for our team in 1 A.D.
The last thing you should be aware of if you haven’t figured it out already is this is an April Fool’s Day post and none of this is happening. I’m sure they will find some way to honor Dak Prescott for his contributions to the Mississippi State football team, but this one would be pretty asinine. Happy April Fool’s Day everyone!
