With Spring Practice in full swing, I make my annual SEC predictions for the upcoming 2016 football season.

The Georgia Football team made the controversial decision to fire long time head coach Mark Richt. Taking the reins is former Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart. Will Smart continue the Georgia football team’s winning ways in 2016?

Overall 9-3, SEC 5-3

The Georgia football team is going to win nine or ten games in 2016, but I think more of it will have to do with the division they play in and not the quality of the program. Their fifth game of the season against Tennessee could determine who wins the division

I think Tennessee gets the edge over this season’s version of Georgia football. The schedule is much easier than it had been in 2015, so the Bulldogs could bounce back in a big way.

The two most important games to watch for the Georgia football team will come early. They travel to Oxford to take on the Rebels in their fourth game, which will be the game after Alabama for Ole Miss. They then head back home to take on Tennessee. Win those two games, and Georgia likely has the SEC East sewn up after the fifth game of the season.

As of now, I don’t see them winning either. They always have one real head scratcher of a loss, and I think this year’s version of that is the Auburn game. It’ll be a good year for the Bulldogs, but like so many under Richt, I can’t help but think Georgia football fans will walk away a little disappointed.
