Prognostications and Prophecies: Picking SEC Games Against The Spread, Week 6
If I made actual bets using my picks, I would have been MAKING IT RAIN!! I was 6-2 against the spread, and I now have a pretty nice record against the spread. Don’t be fooled though and start using these as the basis of any actual cash wager.
It’s a small slate of games with teams starting to get off weeks and SEC teams playing each other more and more.

New Mexico State at Ole Miss (-43.5)
Ole Miss is going to be out 4 of their 5 offensive linemen and a whole bunch of other people. And they will still probably win this game by four or five touchdowns. But they won’t win by a little over 6 touchdowns.
Prediction: Ole Miss 57 – New Mexico State 17
South Carolina at LSU (-18.5)
The situation the state of South Carolina is in is truly terrible. And for the football team of South Carolina, it really stinks because they need to play a football game, but can’t currently play it in their own stadium, so off to Baton Rouge they go to play a “home game”. The line quickly changed from around -12.5, depending on who you go with to -18.5. LSU will win and win big.
Prediction: LSU 31 – South Carolina 10
Georgia (-3) at Tennessee
Probably the hardest game to pick this week. Georgia did what they do so often and lost a big game. I don’t know if they come out less confident of themselves and play poorly, or come out fired up and blow the doors off Tennessee. Then there is Tennessee. They have had leads of 13 or more points in each of their three losses. I think that trend continues. Tennessee goes up 27-13 in the fourth and Georgia comes storming back and wins 34-27.
Prediction: Georgia 34 – Tennessee 27
Arkansas at Alabama (-16.5)
I think this line is too high. Vegas is responding to the beating the Tide gave Georgia, and I think it is an overreaction. I still think the Tide win, but not by this much.
Prediction: Alabama 28 – Arkansas 17
Florida (-4.5) at Missouri
The only doubt i have about this game is if Florida can get past the emotional high of the whipping they gave Ole Miss. If they can, they cover this easy. If they can’t, Missouri will continue to just look awful but keep on winning. I think they get past it.
Prediction: Florida 34 – Missouri 7
Troy at Mississippi State (-30.5)
You guys know I never pick a favorite to win if the line is over 28 points. UNLESS IT IS MY BULLDOGS!! All the young running backs play and rack ub big yards, and Dak is sitting on the bench in the 3rd quarter.
Prediciton: Mississippi State 56– Troy 13
