Former Mississippi State prized recruit quay Evans was arrested on Tuesday. The arrest stems from an incident at a Starkville apartment complex on Saturday night.

More from Maroon and White Nation

There were a number of altercations that took place at the apartment complex, and authorities claim Quay Evans and others pulled out guns and began to shoot them in the air.

It’s another sad entry into the story of Quay Evans. There was a lot expected of the four star recruit from Morton, MS. A successful career in the Maroon and White never materialized. He finished two seasons for the Bulldogs with only 15 tackles. In 2014, he transferred to West Georgia.

Quay Evans was a bust, both on and off the field for Mississippi State. So it got us to thinking here at M&WN about the biggest busts Mississippi State has had recruiting.

I assumed there wouldn’t be very many to choose from since I am constantly informed by rival schools and media members about how difficult it is to get players to come to Starkville. I found out we had a number of high profile guys that just didn’t pan out.

You may not agree with this list. You might think there are five other players who are more deserving of this honor.

The other issue is you might not remember some of these players. These are guys who didn’t do nearly as much as we expected them to, so it would be easy to forget who they were.

So without further adieu, here are my Top 5 Busts for Mississippi State.
