Laremy Tunsil Saga Timeline
It’s been a boring summer. Let’s just be real honest with ourselves. There hasn’t been a ton to do for Mississippi State fans this summer except complain about national media not giving our football team any respect for the upcoming season.

The same was mostly true of the school Bulldog fans love to hate slightly Northwest of Starkville. This was true until news broke that star Offensive Tackle Laremy Tunsil was arrested.
Since it has been kind of dull, and if you haven’t been paying attention, here’s a recap of what has happened in the mean time.
June 25th
Laremy Tunsil is involved in an altercation with his stepfather, Lindsey Miller.
June 26th
Laremy Tunsil turns himself in to Oxford PD and presses charges against his stepfather.
June 27th
News breaks of the incident. Hugh Freeze acknowledges the altercation and says Laremy Tunsil Was defending his mother and was “proud of him for standing up for his family”.
Later that day, Tunsil’s stepfather told the Clarion Ledger Tunsil instigated the fight.
June 30th
Tunsil’s stepfather claims Tunsil left the location of the incident in a yellow vehicle with NFL agents.
At this point, one could make the argument Hugh Freeze isn’t quite as supportive as he initially was.
July 1st
Ole Miss says the alleged ride given to Tunsil would be a violation but would likely only result in minor penalties.
July 3rd
NCAA officials come to Oxford to investigate the contact with agents made by Tunsil. At that time Ole Miss had denied any meeting had taken place. You can read more details by clicking on this link from Riley Blevins.
This is where things get interesting. Blevins was asked a question on Twitter about whether or not this meeting took place in Memphis. This was his reply.
This comes up because Neal McCready of RebelGrove.com talked to Ross Bjork and was told by Bjork the meeting was in Memphis. I can’t tell you exactly where he put that because it’s behind one of RebelGrove.com’s paywalls. I only know this because of this tweet.
Ole Miss did release a statement finally acknowledging the meeting though they never mentioned where the meeting actually was.
To Ole Miss fans
Let me just address the obligatory “Why is a State site writing about Ole Miss?!?!” comments. Like I said at the beginning, it’s been a boring summer. I need something to write about.
Personal Thoughts
If you’re wondering if any of this means anything for Ole Miss, I’d say probably very little. If the only violation that can be proven is the one about Tunsil riding with agents, he probably gets suspended for a game and then plays the rest of the year.
On the other hand, if it is proven Bjork lied about the place of the meeting, he has opened up a can of worms. Why lie in the first place? If you’re lying about the location, does that mean Bjork is trying to cover something else up? It really doesn’t make sense to lie about where the meeting took place, so there has to be a reason he would do so.
It’s all interesting, and it is certainly worth keeping an eye on to see if there is anything that comes of all of this. Time will only tell.
