Number 5: The Alabama Crimson Tide

The Crimson Tide are going to enter the season as the #2 team in the Preseason AP Poll. They will likely stay in that range for most of the season. I do believe that the Tide will suffer a loss at some point this season. The SEC West has six really good teams in it, and I just don’t see any way that any of the teams in that division can run the table this year. It is getting harder and harder for that to happen with the bottom of the division getting stronger every year. Can the Bulldogs be the team to give the Crimson Tide a loss?

Upset Chance: 10% If the Bulldogs are going to go into Tuscaloosa and pull off an upset, they are going to have to defy history in the Mullen era. The games in Tuscaloosa have not been that close for the Bulldogs. They lost 30-10 in 2010 and they were shelled 38-7 in 2012. The game is played late in the year, so any chance of the Tide still working out any kinks from replacing a bunch of players that graduated will also be gone. The one bright spot is that the Tide have not played well against mobile quarterbacks, and they have yet to see Dak Prescott because he sat out last year’s game due to his nerve injury. It probably won’t be enough, but you never know.
