The schedule sets up pretty clear. There are seven games that we should win and five games that are either toss up games or games that everything will have to go perfectly for the Bulldogs to win. Some of the opponents who we should beat will pose greater upset threats than others. If Mississippi State is going to have the special season that we all hope they will, Mississippi State can not afford to get bitten by the upset bug. On the flip side, the Bulldogs will have to win a game or two that many don’t expect them to win if this is going to be a special season for the Bulldogs. Yesterday, we ranked the teams that will have the best chance of pulling the upset against the Bulldogs. Today, we will look at the teams that the Bulldogs will have the best chance of beating that would be considered upsets.
For all of the talk about having a team that can do more this year than Bulldog teams in the past have done, the one thing that absolutely must happen is beat a team or two that they usually don’t beat. Dan Mullen has gotten lots of credit, deservedly so, for not letting teams that the Bulldogs are supposed to beat pull off an upset. He has also received lots of criticism, deservedly so, for not beating anyone that the Bulldogs shouldn’t beat. It has to change this year.
