National college football predictions for Week 8
There's not a national matchup to the level of last week's Ohio State-Oregon, but there are some interesting games. Here's how we predict those battles...
Nebraska at 16 Indiana
Chase: Indiana has not played much tough competition yet, which will be their downfall for this matchup. Dylan Raiola is going to be a problem for the Hoosiers. I expect him to have a big game. Nebraska wins
Reed: Indiana has been arguably the biggest surprise team this football season. Nebraska also appears to be making headway under Rhule in his second year, and I can see this game going down to the last possession. I think ultimately that Nebraska makes one or two more key plays to escape with the win. Nebraska wins
Andrew: I'm buying Indiana as legit. I know they've yet to be tested, and the Huskers are good. But there's just a swagger around Curt Cignetti and his Hoosiers that I'm buying. Indiana wins
6 Miami at Louisville
Chase: Week after week, Miami continues to find a way to win. Cam Ward has been nothing but Heisman caliber for Mario Cristobal. I lack confidence in Louisville's defensive capabilities. Miami wins
Reed: Jeff Brohm has a knack for upsetting top 10 teams at home, and I think that continues this week. Miami has had some close calls the previous two games, and I think that this finally catches up to them. Louisville wins
Andrew: Miami has messed around quite a bit in their last two games, and this should be a tough game. But ultimately they're the better team and will have their way with the Louisville defense. Miami wins
24 Michigan at 22 Illinois
Chase: Michigan continues to stick around in games they aren’t supposed to. Illinois will pose a threat early on, but Michigan once again will leave with a victory. Michigan wins
Reed: The Fighting Illini have also been a pleasant surprise this season. Starkville native, Luke Altmyer, has played tremendously this season, and I think he will be the difference for Illinois in this game. Illinois wins
Andrew: Michigan cannot complete a forward pass, and I think they'll need to if they're going to keep up with a good Illini offense. Give me the fighting Berts. Illinois wins
