Mississippi State football is back in action this week at Georgia, and the college football schedule is loaded with outstanding games. I doubt we get the same theatrics as last week, but it should still be a fantastic weekend of football.
The Maroon and White Nation team has been making our picks for the best games each week of the season plus predicting the outcomes for MSU football. After the first six weeks of the season, here's how our records stand...
Chase Brumfield: 35-25
Reed Green: 35-25
Andrew Miller: 38-22
Time to make some picks for Week 7!
National Games
There are some absolute BANGERS in the the national slate of games this weekend. How do we see them playing out?
16 Utah at Arizona State
Chase: This will be a great game between Big 12 foes who are having great seasons. It will be a close, but Utah will leave Tempe with the win. Utah wins
Reed: Even though Utah has struggled more than we thought this season, they are still more experienced talent and coaching wise. I do not think ASU has the depth to hang with them this year. Utah wins
Andrew: Does Cam Rising actually exist, or is he just a figment of our imagination? But seriously, it's crazy that this guy just doesn't play, and Utah tells us nothing about his status. I assume he isn't playing, and I don't trust Utah without him, especially in a hostile road environment. Give me ASU. Arizona State wins
18 Kansas State at Colorado
Chase: I do not trust Colorado when it comes to primetime opponents. Kansas State’s offense is dangerous and Colorado’s defense is a liability. Kansas State wins
Reed: Colorado is improved this year, but Kansas State looked like a different animal versus Oklahoma State. I think they win in a close game with an advantage on coaching. Kansas State wins
Andrew: Colorado legitimately has improved, and this should be a fun game. But I don't think they're ready to handle the physicality that Kansas State brings. Kansas State wins
4 Penn State at USC
Chase: USC has fallen off the tracks this season, and I do not expect it to stop. USC’s inability to play at their strengths at times and let their opponents hang around will be the reason they leave with a loss. Penn State wins
Reed: I expect Penn State to win an ugly game. They struggled with UCLA, and that could be a sign for things to come. However, USC dropped the ball versus Minnesota, and the ship could be sinking for them. Penn State wins
Andrew: Penn State is the better team. Penn State should be too much for USC. And yet I just get this feeling USC and Lincoln Riley will continue to find a way precisely when they're written-off. Also, it'd be very "James Franklin" to lose. USC wins
2 Ohio State at 3 Oregon
Chase: I circled this game the minute I found out it was happening. This will be high scoring with plenty of explosive plays. I give Ohio State’s defense the slight edge to help their offense. Ohio State wins
Reed: Dan Lanning might be a better coach than Ryan Day, but Oregon has looked sloppy with some close wins this season. Ohio State has gotten off to slow starts before firing on all cylinders in the second half. I also think Jeremiah Smith will be the difference in this game. Ohio State wins
Andrew: Game of the day. Auzten is a nightmare to play at, and Ohio State has gotten off to some slow starts. But Oregon hasn't looked crisp much this year, and when the Buckeyes get rolling, they're impossible to stop. Ohio State wins
