Mississippi State women's basketball loses to #16 Kentucky Wildcats in SEC opener
MSU WBK got off to a rough start to conference play. The Bulldogs fell 91-69 at #16 Kentucky Thursday night. State failed to keep pace with a Wildcat offense that knocked down 18 three-pointers. State shot just 35.6% of the game, putting together a poor offensive performance. The Bulldogs are now 13-2 on the season.
#17 Mississippi State basketball hosts South Carolina for SEC opener
In MBK, the #17 Bulldogs will begin SEC play on Saturday against South Carolina in Starkville. State is off to a 12-1 start to the year and has put together a great NCAA Tournament resume so far. But now is when things get truly tough, as the SEC is the strongest league in the country by far. The Gamecocks, at 10-3, are considered one of the lesser teams in the league, but they are no slouch. The game will tipoff at 1:00 PM CT on the SEC Network.
Two Mississippi State Bulldogs selected for 2025 Pro Bowl Games
Mississippi State will have a pair of former Bulldogs taking the field for the 2025 Pro Bowl Games. Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones will appear in his sixth-straight Pro Bowl, and Jacksonville Jaguars punter Logan Cooke will make his Pro Bowl debut. The 2025 Pro Bowl Games will take place from January 30 - February 2 in Orlando.
More transfer portal work coming up for Mississippi State football
MSU football has been busy in the transfer portal, adding 18 players to the roster so far. But they aren't done yet. The dead period for recruiting ends January 6, and Jeff Lebby and his staff will immediately get back to hosting players on campus, looking to fill out their 2025 roster. State still needs to add multiple WRs, at least one CB, and won't hesitate to add more talent in the trenches. There's still plenty to keep up with in regards to the transfer portal for the Bulldogs.
