Mississippi State Bulldogs fans had exactly zero fun on Tuesday night, as two of the biggest teams within the State athletic department suffered ugly losses within the span of just a few hours.

The evening started out with Mississippi State baseball losing a midweek game at home 6-5 to Troy. Troy, despite being a mid-major, is a quality team, but the performance itself from the Diamond Dawgs left fans frustrated. Thanks to leaving 14 runners on base, State completely wasted away what should have been a nice win.

That game just set the table for Mississippi State basketball. The Bulldogs went to Tuscaloosa hoping for a statement win late in the season as their gearing up for March. They're instead heading home licking their wounds after getting pounded 111-73 by Alabama. State gave up 22 three-pointers to the Tide.

It's the type of night that has Mississippi State fans asking why on earth they do this to themselves?

When you've got two major sports from the same school playing on the same night, the chance exists to have an incredibly fun night as a fan of that school. The chance also exists to have a miserable night cheering on said school, and that's unfortunately the spot Mississippi State fans found themselves in on Tuesday.

For basically six-straight hours, State fans had to endure the cruel and unusual punishment of watching Bulldogs athletics find a variety of ways to lose.

It's an agonizing experience, and it was the type of day that leaves you questioning why exactly you devote so much time and energy cheering on the Bulldogs. Of course we all love MSU, but the investment may not be the healthiest choice...

Yes, life as a Bulldog fan can be quite painful. But in the grand scheme of things, two solid Mississippi State teams suffering regular season losses to ranked opponents on the same night isn't really as bad as things can get. Given Mississippi State athletic history, there's always the chance it can get worse...

We'll get another day of having both Bulldog baseball and men's basketball in action this Saturday, as the Diamond Dawgs participate in the Astros Foundation College Classic and basketball takes on LSU. For the sake of MSU fans, let's hope at least one of those teams gets a win.
