Best Bets

Evan Ertel: Colorado (-4) @ Arizona State Bounce-back coming right up for the fighting Deion Sanders’. Arizona State is exactly the type of team that Colorado can take advantage of to get back in the much-needed win column. I think the Buffs win easily on the road and get back into the Pac-12 mix. Colorado -4

Justin Strawn: Purdue @ Iowa (-2.5) Iowa and Purdue are going to play a football game that will make us wonder if it was played in the 1930s. The Over/Under is 39.5. Do you think these teams are combining for 40 points? Me neither. Iowa-Purdue Under 39.5

Ethan Lee: Arkansas State @ Troy (-16) Did you know the Arkansas State Red Wolves have one of the best quarterbacks in the country? I didn’t and it seems like Butch Jones may not have as well until his seat started getting really hot after two devastating losses to start the season. Since A-State turned to Jaylen Raynor to run their offense, the Red Wolves have won three straight games (matching their win total from a season ago) and they’re averaging 42.3 points per game during that stretch. Meanwhile, Raynor has completed 67.3 percent of his passes for 694 yards and 10 touchdowns against 1 pick. Oh, and he’s run for 189 more yards and two more touchdowns. Basically, I’m saying that he’s a lot of fun, Butch Jones is having a lot of fun, and the Red Wolves are going to cover the spread against Troy. Arkansas State +16.

John King: No. 24 Fresno State (-6) @ Wyoming 6907ft. That’s the difference in elevation between Fresno and War Memorial Stadium, where the Wyoming Cowboys play their home games. Sure this isn’t Fresno State’s first experience in Laramie, but the thin air will always factor into the game. I think the Cowboys pull off the cover. Wyoming +6.

Andrew Miller: Maryland @ No. 4 Ohio State(-20) As a sidewalk Pokes fan I love that pick from John. Powder River baby. I’ve gone for sickos under picks the last two weeks and have been horribly wrong with both. This time, I am going to shy away from that and go basic. Give me Maryland +20 vs Ohio State. I think OSU is legit and has their defense figured out. But they aren’t as powerful on offense yet. And Maryland is legit good. The Terps are 3-1 ATS while OSU is 1-2-1. This was a close game last year, and 20 is too many points. Maryland +20

Ryan Strickland: UCF (-2) @ Kansas UCF and Kansas are good at scoring points and bad at stopping people from scoring points on them. Both offenses are in the top 30 right now with UCF in the top 5 and both defenses are outside the top 50. There will be a lot of points scored in this one. UCF/Kansas Over 64.5
