Mississippi State football has never played these Big 10 teams

Mississippi State football once poached a coach from the Penn State Nittany Lions, but the two haven’t met on the field
Penn State is one of the oldest and most successful programs in college football history. And despite that, the Mississippi State Bulldogs have never had an opportunity to meet up with the Nittany Lions.
The Nittany Lions’ legacy as a program has been marred considerably given the Sandusky scandal and the controversy and scrutiny that subsequently developed following that horrific situation.
With head coach James Franklin leading the Nittany Lions, Penn State has managed to win 11 games on four different occasions during his tenure dating back to the 2014 college football season.
And of course, it’s worth noting that, Mississippi State fans are pretty familiar with a former Penn State offensive coordinator.
Penn State football fans seem to really like Joe Moorhead. Some Mississippi State football fans may have enjoyed seeing him around Starkville, but the folks who love the Bulldogs view him very differently as a coach.
But, the two programs have never faced off and there likely won’t be many opportunities to do so in the near future unless they happen to get slated to meet up in a bowl game.
