Zach Arnett’s momentum with the 2024 Mississippi State football recruiting class just keeps building as the Bulldogs got a commitment from a 3-star lineman from Vicksburg.

The 2024 Mississippi State football recruiting class just keeps getting bigger. Zach Arnett and the Mississippi State Bulldogs were able to get another commitment for the 2024 MSU recruiting class on Monday afternoon.

From Vicksburg, Mississippi, 3-star defensive lineman Tyler Carter gave his commitment to the Bulldogs.

Carter has a handful of offers (Middle Tennessee State, Southern Miss, South Alabama), but Mississippi State is by far the most prominent program to recruit the 6-6, 251 pound defensive end.

But finding a talented diamond in the rough that can develop with coaching in Starkville is always a fun thing to do. And it’s worth noting that David Turner was the leading recruiter for the Bulldogs with Carter. Given Turner’s record with developing defensive linemen, that’s a pretty good sign for everyone involved here.

Carter announced his decision to commit to the Bulldogs by releasing a statement on Twitter Monday afternoon. In his statement, Carter thanked God, his family, coaches, and teammates for their support. And then he announced his intent to play for the Bulldogs.

With the addition of Carter, Mississippi State now has 15 commits in its 2024 recruiting class. Here’s how the class looks right now:

MSU now sits at No. 17 in the national recruiting rankings and the Bulldogs are at No. 6 in the Southeastern Conference rankings. Mississippi State is ahead of these SEC teams at the moment:

  • Ole Miss Rebels
  • Texas A&M Aggies
  • Arkansas Razorbacks
  • Alabama Crimson Tide
  • Vanderbilt Commodores
  • Auburn Tigers
  • Kentucky Wildcats
  • Missouri Tigers

MSU’s recruiting momentum is really solid right now. The Bulldogs are building a pretty impressive recruiting class and it’s been a thrill to watch. It’ll be fascinating to see how this all unfolds as we get through the season.
