Some notable changes are happening for the upcoming Mississippi State basketball season and MSU fans are pretty happy with what’s coming.
Big changes are coming to the Hump. The home of Mississippi State basketball is about to get a lot more energetic once more as the Bulldogs will have student section seating available right along the sideline.
Given that in previous years the Bulldogs haven’t had the atmosphere they’ve deserved at the Hump, this is a huge move in the right direction for Mississippi State. The Bulldogs needed to make a change and that’s what the athletic department is doing.
Of course, this is a change that should’ve been made years ago, but it’s a change that is certainly happening right now. And it will pay off in big ways for games during the middle of the week.
How are fans handling it?
Long story short: Mississippi State fans are thrilled. As they should be.

And there’s a lot of people taking the opportunity to thank and recognize those who were instrumental in making this change happen.
Massive win for the @MSU_SA and @HailState Athletics! Shoutout to @zacselmon and @ellie_herndon for making this happen for students! https://t.co/Rvim1m21I8

And a lot of praise is being heaped in Selmon’s direction right now (as it should be).
Is it to early to name it Zac Selmon court??

But seriously this looks to be the perfect blend of students next to the court, and still capitalizing on $$$ from premium seating. Now just make sure it’s all bleachered vs chairbacks. https://t.co/uDkOKPbFjB

Of course, some couldn’t help but to take a shot at a certain former MSU athletics director:

Starting to wonder what things could have been liked if we just hired a real AD all these years ago https://t.co/ws4lzHw8R6

thank god auburn took John. Thank you God https://t.co/gTcGigXzzh

Which, you know, there are some hurt feelings and some frustration there with a certain former athletic director or two. But, we’ve got a guy who sure seems to be steering Mississippi State in the right direction.
Fun things happen when AD's listen to the fans and students https://t.co/bYo1F5VTiP

And that’s really refreshing to see. Brilliant, young minds are helping direct Mississippi State athletics forward. The Bulldogs have an athletics director who appears to be very open to making meaningful changes. MSU has dynamic basketball coaches in Sam Purcell and Chris Jans.
There’s a lot to be excited about as it pertains to Mississippi State basketball. And hopefully that will continue as the Bulldogs move forward and we get to see basketball games in the Hump with a lively atmosphere.
Mississippi State basketball has a lot of potential right now. The Bulldogs can be really fun to watch. Get to the Hump. Support this team. And, you know, have a lot of fun in the process.
