Mississippi State Basketball fans react to last night’s gut-wrenching loss
By Landon Young
The Mississippi State basketball team lost their “First Four In” game vs. the Pittsburgh Panthers last night, but Twitter was on fire, even after the game.
The Mississippi State basketball team was one of the last four teams in the NCAA Tournament, and they played against the Pittsburgh Panthers to be the true No. 11 seed to face off against the Iowa State Cyclones.
Unfortunately, the Mississippi State Bulldogs came up short by just one point. The Bulldogs lost to the Panthers by a score of 60-59.
Tolu Smith needed to do more, but the Pittsburgh Panthers prepared well. The Pittsburgh Panthers came into this “First Four In” game knowing that had to do one thing to win this game… Shut Tolu Smith down, and that they did. The Panthers double-teamed Tolu Smith from the tip-off of tonight’s basketball game.
The Bulldogs had a good look to end the game, but the game-winner bounced off the rim.
Of course, the night as a whole was a tough one to swallow, but let us look back and realize that we did this together. Mississippi State fans truly all feel the same.
Mississippi State Basketball – The Disappointment
Well duh, the game itself was a massive disappointment. So, let’s look at the winning tweet of disappointment. Huge shoutout to @HailStateStool for putting into words what every Mississippi State Bulldogs fan was feeling last night.
The Action
@BFW, you nailed it. His reaction had to be the exact same as 75% of Mississippi State fans across the country. I know if you had a video of me when Shakeel Moore’s three bounced off the rim, I looked nearly identical to Brandon Walker.
The Humor
@Noah_Mashburn, you always seem to provide the comedic relief I need in tough times. I laughed so hard at this tweet when I woke up this morning, but I also felt it.
