It’s Maroon Friday, and the Mississippi State Bulldogs (2-0) are on the road this week to take on the Memphis Tigers (2-0). The Bulldogs and Tigers have not played since 2011. Mississippi State has won the last twelve games, and the odds say the streak will run to thirteen on Saturday.
Memphis will not roll over as the Tigers are a decent program that produces NFL talent. The Tigers also have a host of native Mississippians that would like nothing more than to send Mississippi State home with a loss. I don’t expect that to happen, but Mississippi State has to handle business.

Mississippi State is still a -3 point favorite, according to WynnBet. The Bulldogs are 1-1 against the spread this season and 1-1 against the Over/Under. Earlier this week, I picked Mississippi State to cover the spread and for the Bulldogs and Tigers to go under the total of 64.
I feel confident Mississippi State will easily cover the spread against Memphis, but I want to rethink my over-under prediction. Zach Arnett’s defense made a liar out of me against NC State, but Memphis will be amped up for this game.
This season, Memphis has been explosive, but it has been against teams Mississippi State should beat. The Bulldogs have the talent to shut Memphis down, but they did give up 34 points to a LA Tech. The Bulldogs and Tigers will go over 64 points in this matchup, and my prediction is now 45-31.
