Kansas State: Bulldogs win 31-10 (Grade B)

This was the first real challenge of the season for the Mississippi State football team. They passed it with remarkable ease.

Again, the inefficiencies in the passing game are what kept this from being an A. It was Nick Fitzgerald’s first game back from his awful injury in the 2017 Egg Bowl, so rust was to be expected. Kylin Hill had a breakout game, and we thought he was going to compile amazing numbers in 2018 as a result, but it was not to be.

But it was an interception deep in Mississippi State territory that helped Kansas State get their only touchdown, one of just 12 surrendered by the Bulldogs defense all season. That keeps it from being an A.
