Erroll Thompson is the best linebacker that MSU has right now and he is terrifying.

Nick Fitzgerald had an incredible performance last night to move the Bulldogs up and down the field against a stout Texas A&M defense. Nobody would argue that. But as impressive as that performance was, Erroll Thompson had one that was just as notable and important for the Mississippi State football team.

Thompson was the second leading tackler for the Bulldogs against Texas A&M and was seemingly always in the right place on the field any time that MSU needed a play to be made. His 7 total tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss were certainly helpful for State last night.

Oh, and there is the fact that Thompson snagged a clutch interception with a little over two minutes left in the fourth quarter when Mississippi State was only up by 8 points. That interception was followed up by a two play drive that featured Nick Fitzgerald running down the field for 76 yards and a touchdown on one play to put the game out of reach.

Thompson was crucial to Mississippi State’s victory over A&M.
