The first drive could not have gone any worse for Nick Fitzgerald and the Bulldogs.

The entire reason that the LSU Tigers were able to score a touchdown in this game is due to the fact that MSU had two false start penalties to get the game going and then Nick Fitzgerald threw his first interception.

Those three mistakes set the Tigers up at the two yard line. While the Tigers have played horrible on offense themselves, it doesn’t take much to punch the ball across the goal line if you’re just two yards away from the end zone.

MSU’s first drive could not have been any worse for the Bulldogs. It really set the tone for the entire game. Had the Bulldogs not made these mistakes, then this game is probably tied up and we’re having a slightly different conversation. Granted, it’d still be a frustrating conversation, but it’d be slightly different.
