As the Mississippi State football team gets set to take on the No. 8 Auburn Tigers, here’s which Bulldogs need to step up this week for MSU to even have an outside shot at winning.

The No. 8 Auburn Tigers are a tough team to face. For the Mississippi State football team to come away from this game with a win, the Bulldogs are going to need significant improvements in play across the entire board. However, there’s a few specific Bulldogs that could take a step forward in this game that would improve MSU’s chances right away.

If you were guessing that those improvements needed to come on the defensive side of the ball, then you’d be guessing wrong. The Mississippi State football team has played great defense in the past couple of weeks and that’s the side of the ball that has given MSU a chance at winning lately.

It’s the offense that truly needs to come to life in this game. More than likely, if you’ve kept up with Mississippi State football against Kentucky and Florida, you probably already knew that.

Now, the 8th ranked team and its incredibly good defense is in Starkville looking to get another win.

The Auburn Tigers boast a talented roster and a great defense that will look to give MSU some issues. Thankfully, the Bulldogs defense can give Mississippi State a shot against the Tigers as the Auburn offense hasn’t been that fun to watch this season either.

But the improvements on offense truly do need to happen. Especially so if the Bulldogs want to win today.
