Nick Fitzgerald

Joe Moorhead’s offense revolves around its quarterback. As Nick Fitzgerald goes, so does the offense. As Fitzgerald struggles, so does the offense. And ultimately by extension, the rest of the Mississippi State football team with it.

While Moorhead needs to adapt his offense, Fitzgerald still needs to execute better within the system that he’s been given. So far, he’s only put up one good performance. That was against the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns. Outside of that one game, Fitz played rather inefficiently against Kansas State and was certainly mediocre against Kentucky and Florida.

If the Mississippi State football team is truly hoping to upset the Auburn Tigers, then that starts at the quarterback position. Fitzgerald needs to give this offense a spark. Hopefully the scheme will be tailored more to him and this team some going forward and hopefully Fitzgerald will thrive in this game.
