How will this game play out?

More from Mississippi State Football

Given how this season has played out so far for the Bulldogs, it doesn’t make much sense to predict that the Mississippi State football team will take down the 8th ranked team in the nation this weekend.

Auburn has appeared to be a solid team throughout most of this season. Mississippi State hasn’t been a solid team for weeks. Unfortunately, the Bulldogs don’t have anything that resembles momentum for this game and they’re currently treading water in the SEC West.

The Bulldogs can’t afford to drop this game, but it feels almost inevitable that they will unless some sort of unexpected, miraculous spark of offense shows up on Saturday night.

The Mississippi State football team needs a win this weekend, but a win would be very difficult to come by in this game. Auburn has a great defense and MSU’s offensive line has been beaten down lately.

The smart bet would be to pick Auburn to win here. It’ll likely be a fairly close and frustrating game as these two defenses punch it out, but the Tigers will likely come out on top. Auburn 21, Mississippi State 17.
